In 1908 and 1909, Conductor Cliff Bingham worked between Montevideo, MN and Aberdeen, SD on time freights, locals, work trains, and even the Ortonville to Fargo freight. His conductor book records all of the carloads he handled, giving a great look at consists of that era.
The Milwaukee Aberdeen depot and freight house (left) taken from the intersection of Main St. (foreground) and Railroad Ave. Conductor Bingham’s book dates from before the larger 1911 Aberdeen station was built. This photo is dated circa 1911 but it might be from 1910 like the photo above. Library of Congress photo.
